Conley’s Compete in North/South 100 and Jim Dunn Memorial Last Weekend
(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Conley Motorsports, Inc. traveled to a pair of different venues in the states of Kentucky and Ohio over the August 10-12 weekend for high-profile events. R.J. Conley tackled the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky for the 30th edition of the 'North/South 100.' After timing in ninth fastest in Group B during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying on Friday, R.J. won his loaded heat race to earn the outside third row starting spot in Saturday's $50,000 to win feature event. During the course of the 100-lapper, R.J. was a fixture inside of the top ten until suffering a flat tire on lap 90, which relegated the Wheelersburg, Ohio native to a disappointing sixteenth place performance in the crown jewel event.
Rod Conley waited until Sunday to take his #71r machine to the Midway Speedway in Crooksville, Ohio for the annual running of the 'Jim Dunn Memorial.' Rod won his heat race in preliminary action and later rolled off ninth on the grid in the 40-lap feature event. Handling issues throughout the $5,000 to win race caused "Hot Rod" to slip back to a sixteenth place finish. Complete results from both weekend shows can be accessed by clicking on www.dirtondirt.com.
All three Conley Motorsports, Inc. teams will return to action over the August 17-18 weekend in their home state of Ohio. R.J. and Rod Conley will travel to the Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio on Friday and the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday. Both of those venues will play host to $5,000 to win unsanctioned events. Delmas Conley will sling dirt at the nearby Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio on Friday before traveling to PRP to join his sons on Saturday. Additional information on these shows can be viewed by accessing www.southernohiospeedway.com, www.molerracewaypark.com, and www.portsraceway.com.
The respective #71 teams would like to thank the following companies for their support this season: American Metal Supply Company, Conley Trucking, Cornett Building Supply, Vinyl Kraft Windows, Mortgage One Financial Group, Brown Services, Rocket Chassis, Draime Racing Engines, Impact Racing Decals, Schoenfeld Headers, Snap-On Racing, Hoosier Racing Tires, Wrisco, Allstar Performance, Design 500, Bazell Race Fuels, Poske's Performance Parts, Mason Racin', Arizona Sport Shirts, Delph Communications, and Weld Racing Wheels.
