Tyler Hershey to Debut MBH Race Car at Hagerstown McBee/Hays Memorial

    August 29, 2012

The “Young Gun”; Tyler Hershey Reloaded and Ready to Race Again…Will Debut new MBH Car at Hagerstown.

Over 2-1/2 months ago, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania’s Hershey Racing made a hard decision to park the Family owned #74 Super Late Model and take some time off to regroup. The season just had not gone as expected and the team found themselves in a rut that had just taken the enjoyment away for the sport. Fast forward… and a rejuvenated Tyler Hershey and team will debut a brand new Mastersbilt by Huey race car this weekend at Maryland’s Hagerstown Speedway for the 27th Annual McBee/Hays Memorial Championship. The 44 Lap feature will pay $2,500 to the winner.

“I cannot tell you how excited I am” said Hershey when contacted between classes, at the Penn State/Mount Alto campus. “Taking this break was the hardest thing to do, not just for me but also my family, sponsors and the team. No one wanted to stop racing, it was just something we had to do. We race, that is what we love to do but we just were not having any fun. It is time to have fun again” added Tyler.

“Huey has spent time at our shop and has been great to work with, helping us along preparing this new car. He builds a great car and I’m excited to be in one. I wouldn’t be getting ready to race this weekend if it was not for family, friends & sponsors. We had talked about having to wait until 2013, but they all stepped up to the plate to provide me with new equipment. Thank you doesn’t seem enough, but I know I will never be able to repay them for their unconditional and constant support. My dad and the crew have put countless hours in preparing this new car. Our plan is to run some of the bigger races at the end of this year, so we can work on getting use to the new car and be better prepared for 2013” stated the 21 year old, Hershey.

Hershey Racing would also like to thank Ernie & Connie Davis for the generous use of a Steel Block car the past 2 months. Tyler ran the car several times and only finished out of the top 5 once. Plans are to run Ernie’s car again this year, in a make-up race where Tyler is scheduled to start the feature from the pole.

Tyler Hershey Racing would like to thank all the team’s sponsors for their continued support:
Hershey’s Racing Engines, JWP Environmental, Inc., ALH Bookkeeping & Business Services, KRS Motorsports Media, MBH Race Cars, Ramsey’s Septic Service, Fred Design, 340 Defense with associate help from Ernie D’s Enterprises, Keizer Wheels, VP Racing Fuels, HTMA, The Brake Man, Schaeffer Racing Oil, Bell Helmets, WIX Filters, & SignDesign/Bill Funk.
