Brandon Kinzer Starts Prepping for Talladega NASCAR Weekend Following Jackson 100
(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) After nearly two months away from the racetrack, Brandon Kinzer and his #18 Dirt Late Model team rolled into the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on September 21-22 for the 33rd edition of the 'Jackson 100.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the two-day affair and 40 competitors piled into the pit area at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds complex to vie for the $20,000 top prize.
In qualifying on Friday night, Brandon debuted a new Rocket Chassis and timed in fifteenth fastest in his group. When the action really heated up on Saturday evening, Brandon finished tenth in his loaded heat race and ninth in his B-Main. Unfortunately, the Allen, Kentucky native was unable to transfer into the 100-lap feature event. Full results from Brownstown can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
The Kinzer Motorsports team is slated to take the upcoming September 28-29 weekend off from racing action, but will return to competition on October 5-6 at the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama. In conjunction with the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend at the nearby Talladega Superspeedway, TST will play host to a pair of Dirt Late Model events. A $2,000 winner’s check is on the line on Friday night, while the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) will preside over a $3,500 to win showdown on Saturday evening.
