Dennis Erb Racing Heads to Peach State on Heels of Knoxville LM Nationals

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team followed the rigorous Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule to the hallowed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa on September 26-28 for the 10th Annual 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' The three-day extended weekend kicked off with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary shows at the 1/2-mile Marion County Fairgrounds facility. On Thursday, Dennis ran third in his heat race, but was later involved in a hard wreck on the seventh circuit of the 25-lapper, which led to a disappointing twenty-third place performance. At Knoxville on Friday, Dennis unfortunately failed to transfer into the 25-lap feature event after finishing seventh in his heat race and eighth in the C-Main.

The action wrapped up at the black-dirt oval on Saturday evening with the $40,000 to win crown jewel main event. After placing sixteenth in the B-Main, Dennis was awarded a LOLMDS provisional and later started the 100-lapper from the thirty-first position. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace stayed out of trouble throughout the extra-distance affair and was eventually paid for thirteenth following the conclusion of the rough and tumble race. Dennis still sits fifth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings following the 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' Complete results from Knoxville can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Dennis Erb Racing will follow the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series south to the Peach State of Georgia on October 5-6 for a pair of $10,000 to win events. On Saturday, the ‘Dixie Shootout’ will be held at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia, while the ‘Rome Showdown’ will wrap up the doubleheader weekend on Sunday at the ultra-fast Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia. Both shows this weekend will be filmed by the Lucas Oil Production Studios to air on several TV networks in 2013.
