Daniel Baggerly Impresses in New CVR Car in Fastrak Triple Crown Event at Wythe
(RURAL RETREAT, VIRGINIA) The B&B Motorsports team made the short drive to the picturesque Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia on Saturday evening, May 24 for a special show, which was sanctioned by the Fastrak Racing Series. A pair of Twin 25s were held at the 1/2-mile oval and $1,200 top prizes were on the line in each race. Daniel Baggerly - who was behind the wheel of his brand-new CVR racecar - thrilled his hometown fans by laying down the fastest laps in both rounds of qualifying, which put him on the pole for each of the 25-lappers.
After leading the first five circuits in the first Twin 25, Daniel claimed a strong runner-up performance behind only victor Jonathan Davenport. In the nightcap, "Bagz" was running third late in the 25-lap race before a flat tire relegated him to fifteenth in the final rundown. The #16 team will look to carry the momentum gained from Wythe with the new CVR car to the pristine Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia this Saturday night, May 31. Twin feature events will also be held for the Aaron’s Pro Late Models on Saturday at Bill Sawyer’s 1/2-mile speedplant and a $300 payday will be up for grabs in each 15-lapper. Daniel has set a New Track Record in qualifying on both of his previous visits to VMS in 2014, so look for the Rural Retreat, Virginia native to be a factor early and often this Saturday.
