Brandon Kinzer’s Holiday Weekend Highlighted by Sixth Place Run at Atomic Speedway
(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Kinzer Motorsports returned to Dirt Late Model action in a pair of special events from July 3-5 in the states of Ohio and Kentucky. On Thursday night at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, an unsanctioned show took place and a $5,000 winner's check was on the line. Brandon Kinzer timed in tenth fastest in qualifying and later grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the fifth row in the 40-lap headliner, Brandon worked his way past four competitors at the track formerly known as K-C Raceway en route to a strong sixth place performance behind only victor Greggie Oliver, Jackie Boggs, Rod Conley, Chris Garnes, and Duane Chamberlain.
Following a day off to celebrate the 4th of July with family and friends, the #18 team rolled into the nearby 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky on Saturday evening for the first-ever visit by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Brandon knocked down the third fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session, but later slipped back to seventh in his loaded heat race. After taking hold of the third and final transfer spot through his B-Main, BK started the $10,000 to win main event from the inside of the eleventh row. The Allen, Kentucky native was then knocking on the door to the top ten late in the 50-lapper when an incident with another competitor helped relegate him to a twentieth place effort. The Kinzer Motorsports team is slated to take the upcoming July 11-12 weekend off from competition. Their next scheduled events are the first two Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series races on July 21-22 in the states of Virginia and Tennessee. A $3,500 top prize will be up for grabs on that Monday at the picturesque Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia and on Tuesday at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee.
