Tony Jackson Jr. Records Pair of Podiums; Tri-State Next
Lebanon, Missouri (05/06/15) – It was a Show-Me State doubleheader for the stars and cars of the Mid America Racing Series (MARS) Super Late Models over the weekend, and Tony Jackson Jr. powered his Henryetta Ford #56 Black Diamond by Club 29/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model to a pair of podium finishes.
On Friday night a $2,000-to-win event was contested at Monett Speedway (Monett, Missouri). Tony finished 2nd in his heat to earn a spot in the main event. During the course of the feature he raced his way to a 3rd place finish behind race winner, Jesse Stovall, and Will Vaught.
Action moved to Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri) on Saturday evening. With thirty-one entries in action Jackson Jr. advanced from the 6th starting spot to a 2nd place finish. His heat race performance locked him into the 3rd starting spot for the finale. Jackson Jr. battled near the front of the pack throughout the feature before settling into a second place finish behind race winner, Jesse Stovall.
“Considering two weeks ago, when we last raced, I destroyed a car, I would have to say this was a good weekend for our team,†said Jackson Jr. “Jesse (Stovall) was just a tick better than us both nights, but we’ll keep digging.â€
