For 2011, the Ponderosa Speedway, in Junction City, Kentucky, has decided to concentrate our efforts on what we feel is the most important key to running a successful Friday night race track, a weekly racing series for the local drivers. We have created 6 racing divisions to give our spectators and competitors a diverse and full racing agenda.
Our track is centrally located to 3 great local Saturday night tracks, all within 60 miles of the Ponderosa. Our rules were developed to allow cars that run at each one of these tracks to compete at the Ponderosa Speedway. Any race car from the famed Richmond Speedway, Bluegrass Speedway or the Lake Cumberland Speedway will be allowed to compete at our track with very few modifications. With our rules mirroring the other tracks, drivers can compete two nights per week, thus allowing them the opportunity to double their income from their racing investments. The three Saturday night dirt tracks host some of the very best local and traveling series drivers in the country and we would love to have each one of them racing at our track every Friday night.
We have made many changes in the Ponderosa Speedway racing program this year.
Here are a few of them:
< And a whole lot more.
All changes are made to improve the racing program, and making the stock car racing family oriented and fun again. Many other changes are in the works and will be rolled out in the near future.
On a regular night, our Super Late Model division will pay a minimum of $1000 to win. We also have a Pro Late Model or Crate Series will pay 600 dollars to win. The Modified Division also pays $600 to win. The Sportsman Class will pay 300 dollars to win, the Street Stocks pay $150 to win and the 4 cylinder class will pay $75 to win. A variable payout plan is in place to increase the purse amount based on the number of paid spectators in the Grandstands. There are 5 levels of payout to the drivers based on Grandstand attendance. Our goal is to pay the maximum every night. So come out and support your driver.
The grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $5 for teens and children under 10 are free. We are trying to make racing affordable and make the Ponderosa Speedway your favorite local track, so bring your race car, family and friends, and enjoy a great night of stock car racing. The Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane, Junction City, Kentucky.

I would like to personally invite you, your car, crew and family and join us this and every Friday night in the 2011.
