Ryan Unzicker battles his childhood hero Kevin Weaver through lapped traffic from laps 14 through 19, swapping the lead several times until Weaver starts smoking and blows a left rear tire on lap 22. Unzicker holds off a charging Mike Spatola for his 2nd consecutive win at Peoria. In the Semi, Bob Garner rides the wall down the backstretch and then goes out of the park in turn 4, taking a light pole with him and knocking the lights out. Gardner was unhurt, but the accident took out a circuit containing 4 lights. Bollinger, Willis, Jr., Barnes, Jr., and Butterfield also take wins. 90 cars in the pits and a terrific crowd on a beautiful night.
