    Labor Day Classic for Schaeffer’s SNBS/Iron-Man Late Models at Volunteer Speedway Saturday September 1

    SOMERSET, KENTUCKY – August 26, 2018 – The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV, along with the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt.com, will co-sanction the Labor Day Classic at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN on Saturday September 1, with Super Late Model competitors racing for a $5,000 top prize.

    The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV and the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt.com will co-sanction the Labor Day Classic at Volunteer Speedway on Saturday September 1, with the 40-lap main event winner claiming $5,000 for their efforts. In addition, other divisions in action at the Volunteer Speedway Labor Day Classic on Saturday September 1 will be the track’s Crate Late Models paying $1,500 to win, Sportsman Late Models paying $800 to win, Modified Streets paying $700 to win, and Classic Cars paying $400 to win. Activities for the Saturday September 1 Labor Day Classic at Volunteer Speedway will see the pit area and general admission area gates open at 3:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will take place at 6:45 p.m., followed immediately by practice, time trials, and green flag racing. Ticket prices at Volunteer Speedway for the Labor Day Classic on Saturday September 1 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be $35.

    The Super Late Model portion of the program will be co-sanctioned by the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series and the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series. The entry fee will be $100, plus transponder rental for timing/scoring purposes. The Super Late Model tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 and American Racer 48 and 56. Random tire samples will be taken by the series. Drivers not making the feature event will receive $50 tow money. In addition, mandatory at Volunteer Speedway is drivers must wear gloves and all cars must have a window net, plus all competitors must have a working RACEceiver.

    Directions to Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN are as follows: South on Interstate 81 from Tennessee/Virginia state lines: Take Exit 23 (Bulls Gap/Greeneville), then turn right onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp. Look for Volunteer Speedway entrance approximately 200 yards on left. North on Interstate 81 from I-81/I-40 split (East of Knoxville, TN): Take Exit 23, then turn left onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp. Continue underneath the interstate overpasses, and Volunteer Speedway entrance approximately 300 yards ahead on left.
