    The Pond? Or not?

How long do you think Ponderosa Speedway will be running? After Friday night I know several people that wont be back and dont think it will last another two weeks. I like going there and watching the races but the owner/promotor needs to do some serious thinking and get his s**t together or it wont last much longer. You cant run a race track like he does and expect it to last. All he's doin is losing cars and fans. A new or better flagman would help alot.

Well i really don't think that the pond is going to make it much longer at all. Cutting purses and not paying very well he want be getting very many cars and no cars means no fans and then the doors will be closed. That is sad because I only live 15 minutes from the pond and as a car owner I just can't afford to go there and have the purse cut. Maybe if this promotor don't work out maybe the yantz family will take it back over. That way we know the purse want be cut and what is advertised will be paid out

so did the pay out change that night? is that why the feature was changed from 40 too 30 laps? if so no you can not do business like that and expect too have cars or fans.

to answer you're question, lovin, the winner got 563 dollars instead of the 750 that was advertised. If he would cut the purse for a special show ,I can only imagine what he would do on a regular show. We really enjoy running there, but it is a two hour drive for us,and the investment is just high with diesel fuel being 4 dollars a gallon and racing fuel being 8 dollars a gallon,we just cant risk running for 2 or 3 hundred to win.

Thats poor business!!! that's true in a regular show i would be afraid that one might receive nothing at all.

The modified feature was advertised to pay 750 dollars to win. Paid 563.00 . I hate that the car count was really low , but we didn't get to use less fuel or fewer tires just because there were only 5 cars.I keep hearing Mr. Sullivan say that he cuts the purse 25% like all other tracks, but the only other stock car track I ever knew of that did this was the last owner of the Barren Co. Speedway, and most of us know what happened to that track. They also had that silly rule ,if you win you start on the tail the next race you attend, I can live with some sort of invert but this is just assinign to think that someone would want to come there knowing that the best they're gonna do is start on the back. Not bashing anyone,I hope he can turn it around, but I just don't believe all this gimicky stuff is the answer.

No that is not good pay for a $750 to win race it is the promoters job to get cars in the pits, not the drivers like stated earlier they didnt get a break on fuel or tires so why should they not get the advertised purse
