    Lake Cumberland Speedway, has taken on a whole new look as the racing surface has been completely reworked. Thanks for the help of our good friends over at McGowan Excavating. With all the rain that has come down on the speedway. Over the last 6 weeks. We had no choice but, to step up and redo the whole track. There has even, been some configuration changes made to the track. Lake Cumberland will be back in action this Saturday Night. May 14th with a regular program.

              Lake Cumberland Speedway STARS MDRL $3000.00 to Win Coca Cola 40 May 21st 2011

              STARS Midwest Dirt Racing League $3,000 to win Coca Cola 40 at Lake Cumberland Sat May 21st

              SOMERSET, KY (May 14, 2011)—After a few weeks off, the STARS Midwest Dirt Racing League will be back in action on Saturday Night May 21st at Hardgrove’s Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY.

              This will be a $3,000 to win / $300 to start event and will be the second of five series visits throughout the 2011 season at the Brandon Hardgrove promoted facility located just minutes south of Somerset, Kentucky. The track is a 3/8th’s mile clay oval which is in their 31st season of competition. Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY won the STARS MDRL opening event back on Saturday April 23rd.

              The local Open Wheel Modifieds ($800 to win), Super Dirt Stocks and FWD’s will also be on the racing card that night. Pit Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. with the driver’s meeting slated for 6:30 p.m. and Hot Laps rolling out at 7:00 p.m. All times are Eastern.

              The STARS MDRL Late Models will see a full show of Practice, Time Trials, Heat Races, Consolation Races and the 40-lap Main event. The tire rule for the STARS MDRL Late Models will be Open Front with Hoosier LM40/1600 and American Racer MD56 on the rear. These tire compounds only must punch 60 cold.

              The STARS Midwest Dirt Racing League Late Model drivers are vying for the guaranteed starting spot in this year’s 31st Annual edition of Carl Short’s Dirt Track World Championship paying $50,000 to win which will be held on October 14-15 at Schrader’s KC Raceway in Chillicothe, OH and will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
