    Press Release

The stars of the Carolina Clash are ready to tackle the new, ultra-fast racing surface of Dublin Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 21 for a $4,000 to win event with $2,000 in contingency awards and prizes. Luke Roffers currently holds onto the points lead by just 6 points over 2nd place contender Mike Gault. 2010 Carolina Clash Champion Dennis "Rambo" Franklin sits in 3rd followed by 2009 Clash Champion Jeff Smith. Kenny Compton rounds out the top five in his first year with the Carolina Clash. With such a tight points battle, the top 7 could switch positions drastically after this event.

So far this season, Roffers has two wins coming at Fayetteville Motor Speedway and Cleveland County Speedway. Chris Ferguson has one win on the season which came at Carolina Speedway. Johnny Pursley won the last Carolina Clash race held which took place at Lancaster Motor Speedway last weekend.

Chad Paxton currently sits atop the Klotz Lubricants Rookie of the Year standings followed by Mike Huey and Travis Yow. Just 21 points separate Huey and Yow for 2nd place in the ROY standings.

"Dublin produced some of the best racing we saw last season" said Carolina Clash owner Larry Lee. "We saw two and three wide racing around the entire track in all of our visits last year".

In the first ever appearance for the Carolina Clash at Dublin Motor Speedway back at the end of June, saw Luke Roffers set fast time and win the feature. It was Roffers first career victory with the Carolina Clash.

During the second appearance at Dublin for the Carolina Clash, fans witnessed a very emotional victory for Jeff Smith. In victory lane, Smith dedicated his win to the late Jack Starrette. "Mr. Starrette sponsored many of the super late models in the area and would always go above and beyond the call of duty to help those in need" said Marion Limbaugh, Carolina Clash Event Coordinator.

Jeff Smith was able to motor his way from his 9th place starting spot to win at Dublin Motor Speedway in the Carolina Clash third appearance at the speedway last year. The win was Smith's 2nd of the season and 2nd win at Dublin last year. It also marks his 24th career Carolina Clash victory. "I love this track" said Smith in victory lane. Smith was sponsored by Star Leasing and Starrette Trucking with motor provided by ECR Engines in his Rocket chassis. The Top-5 in the third appearance was Jeff Smith, Jay Sessoms, Dean Bowen, Stephen Evans, and Dennis Franklin.

Who will be able to win the $4,000 feature event? Can someone knock off Jeff Smith's two race win streak at Dublin? Can someone take over the points lead from Roffers? All of these questions will be answered this Saturday as the Carolina Clash rolls into Dublin Motor Speedway. With the Carolina Clash, you buy the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge.

The Carolina Clash would like to thank the following sponsors for their contributions to the series in 2011: American Racer Tire, Heintz Brothers Performance, VP Racing Fuels, Comp Cams, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Shell Racing Solutions, ATL Racing Fuel Cells, Shafer Enterprises' Cool Shirts, NASCAR Technical Institute, Safety Kleen, R2C Performance, XS Power Racing Batteries, Next Level Graphics, Collins Signs, www.lockoutforums.com. , Performance Tee's, Racing Electronics, Mike's Custom Tanks, Lincoln Electric, Ohlins Advanced Suspension Technology, Klotz Synthetic Lubricants, RF Composites, Keizer Wheelhouse South, Firethorn Marketing,Raceiver, and Luvracin.com.
