    Southeastern Latemodel Sportsman Headed To Toccoa Speedway Sat. June,11th

    The Legendary Toccoa Speedway.....The Oldest & Fastest High Banked 5/16 Mile Clay Tri Oval on the Planet!!............Will be invaded by the....."Men Of Steel".....The most Popular Traveling Dirt Latemodel Series in the South East this Saturday night June,11th. The Franklin North Carolina based "Southeastern Latemodel Sportsman Series" will be making their first visit to the Toccoa Speedway during the early part of the (2011) Season. Thanks to Scilian Pizza of Toccoa for Sponsoring the $400 to win Feature event for the Street Stock 4Cyl's.

    C.E.O. & Founder of the (SLMSS) Randy McCoy stated that the Series always looks forward to their visits to the Toccoa Speedway and this Saturday's visit will be their first with the Speedway under the New promotion of Leon Lathan. McCoy also stated that Lathan and himself have worked together very well in the past and we are expecting Saturday night's event to be one of the best this Season.

    The Southeastern Latemodel Sportsman will be running a (35) lap, $1,500 to win...$100 to start... Event. There will be a ($60) entry fee for this event. Sportsman Cars will qualify to set the field for their Feature event. Consi races will be ran if needed. Any and all info and Rules for the Southeastern Latemodel Sportsman Series can be viewed on the Series website http://www.southeasternlatemodels.com

    Drivers expected to be here are Defending Point Champion Parker Herring / Wesley English / Kenny Collins / Bubba Russell / Mack English / Jimmy Feltman / Justin Sims / Charlie Parker / David McCoy / Jimmy Ivester / Jeff Crowder and several more of the Best Steel Head Latemodel drivers in the South East.


    "The Crate Latemodels can run with the Series" Cars with GM (602 & 604) Engines may utilize (run) a 12" Rear Spoiler
    (1.)... Rear spoiler material maximum twelve-inch (12”) height
    602 & 604 crate motor measured from deck to tip of
    material. Maximum seventy-two inch (72”) width.
    (2.)... Rear spoiler is not permitted to be suspended above the deck to create a
    “wing effect.”
    (3.)... Rear spoiler must begin where quarter panels end. No extended decks
    permitted.
    (4.)... Maximum of three (3) rear spoiler supports. Option of two (2) additional
    one inch (1”) aluminum braces.
    (5.)... Spoiler supports cannot be mounted wider than the top of the quarter
    panel.
    (6.)...Crate car running a (602) can weigh "2100 lbs
    (7.)...Crate car running a (604) can weigh "2200 lbs"

    "Tire Rule for Series reads"
    A. Any Hoosier Spec or Crate Tire Permitted.
    B. Hoosier (Spec 1200) is not Permitted...(this includes the right rear)
    C. Cutting & Grooving Permitted
    D. Any Hoosier Permitted on Right Rear..(Right Rear Only!!)
    E. Any Open Tire Found at any other corner will mean automatic disqualification.
    F. No Extra Weight required for cutting and Grooving!


    Also seeing action at Toccoa will be the Super Latemodels. Super Latemodels will qualify to determine the starting line up for their Feature event. Super Latemodels will compete under Southern All Stars Rules (with the exception) of the Tire rule. Toccoa Speedway Super Latemodel tire rule is......"Open Tire"......Toccoa Tire rule will be ran for four weeks (only!!)

    Also seeing action on saturdays program will be the Hobby / Modified Street / Street Stock 4Cyl and the Front Wheel Drive divisions. These divisions will run heat races (depending on car count) to set the line ups for their respective divisions. Toccoa Speedway rules will apply to each division.

    The Street Stock 4Cyl's will compete in a $400 to win Feature event. This event will be Sponsored by "Sicilian Pizza of Toccoa". A Big Thank You goes out to them for stepping up and doing this.

    Gates will open @ 5pm / Drivers meeting @ 6:45pm / Hot laps @ 7:30pm


    Grandstand Admission:
    Kids 5 & under.....................Free
    Kids 6 to 11..........................$6
    Adults 12 & up......................$12
    Seniors age 60 & up...............$10

    Pit Admission:
    Kids 5 & under......................Free
    Kids 6 to 11...........................$10
    Adults 12 & up.......................$25

              Should be a great limited late race on the high banks !!!!

              Enjoyed the racing last week . Good race in each division.
              Thanks to leon ,staff , and everyone he named and didn't that helped in any way to open track back up. Looked good. Jule did a great job on pa system could hear good. Some cars i didn't reconize but could here their names when called out.

              Southeastern latemodels usually put on a great race and noticed this is fair price $12 to get in stands. Hope to see lots of folks.

              Hope they run the slmls main early while track has mositure.

              Track held up pretty good last week, leon said he had found some clay
              and hope to get some of it on in next couple weeks. Folks have worked
              hard on the place.
