28TH ANNUAL Hoosier Dirt Classic leads off the UMP SUMMERNATIONALS at Brownstown

BROWNSTOWN, IN, (June 9th, 2011) - Just six days from now, on Wednesday night June 15th, a grueling 25 race stretch of races known as the UMP Summernationals begins at the Brownstown Speedway. This event will mark the 28th Annual Hoosier Dirt Classic, a long running tradition at the Brownstown Speedway. In 1984, Jeff Purvis scored the inaugural victory in the Springtime classic. Since then, drivers such as Bloomquist, Boggs, Moyer, Gill, Pierce, and O'Neal have scored victories in the event. Don O'Neal has the most wins in the Hoosier Dirt Classic with six.

Brownstown Speedway has held eight UMP Summernationals events with the first being ran in 1990 won by Scott Bloomquist. Other winners in Summernationals events at Brownstown include Doug McCammon (1991), Rick Aukland (1997), Shannon Babb (1999), Billy Moyer (2001, 10), Brian Shirley (2008), and Jeep VanWormer (2009).

This event will also mark the first race of the Summit Racing Equipment UMP Modified Summernationals. Summit Racing Equipment will post a $10,000 cash point fund for the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals. Over $10,000 in Summit Racing gift certificates will be posted as contingency awards at every event. The championship standings will reflect a driver's 10 best finishes, opening the competition up to a significant number of drivers. For more information visit www.modifiednationals.com

The UMP Super Late Models will run for $5,000 to win, with the UMP Super Stocks and UMP Modifieds going for $800 to win, and the Bombers racing for $600 to win.

General admission for this event will be $20 with Kids 6-12 $2. Pit admission is $35. Gates open at 2PM with Hot Laps at 6PM sharp!

Its always been 20 bucks for 5000 to win for as long as ive remembered. The payout for the SN races isnt nothing to sneeze at

the payback is pretty good, but its a lot of classes of cars for a weeknight for those who have to get up and go to work! you could have 2 classes the lates and the mods and got done at a desent time. the way the weather is looking might not have none.
