Matt Hamilton won the Mod feature. The finish was side by side. Most of the feature was run side by side, it was great racing. It was nice to see the Florence Mod champion beat the special series guys.
Jerry Rice won the LM feature in a borrowed car. It was a great battle early with Audie McWilliams leading driving Lanigan's #28.
We left after about 3 laps of the PS feature. The usual, #5 running away from the field, boring race not worth staying for.Last edited by Gary; 06-27-2011, 06:24 PM.

In his post-race interview, he said he broke the motor in his car at Eldora. He wasn't going to be able to race but got a few offers for cars. I don't know whose car he drove but one of the offers was from Rick Combs for the 24c. They put the new body with the #11 on the car late this week and barely got the car ready to race. Just read another post saying that it was the 24c car that Rice was driving.Originally posted by Ted's of Beverly Hills View PostWho did Jerry borrow the car from?Last edited by Gary; 06-26-2011, 08:58 AM.

I was glad to see Mike Jewel and Cody Mahoney at Florence. I know Cody isn't able to race much, but he is good driver. Mike got crushed by a car that spun for no reason. As often happens that car continued to race, putting the 9 on the wrecker.

I also was glad to see Jewell and Mahoney there. 2 very good fellers! They sure did put on a good race. Wish to see Mahoney race alot more and hated to see bad luck hit Jewell. I wish the race was a 50 laps. Mahoney was making his way up front! Next time I rather see qualifying than pill draw. Funny how local drivers all started on the front row. But saw a good race anyways.

I don't know his name but he was at least a lap down. He wasn't going to make the feature anyway so there was no need to eject him for rough driving. He destroyed McWilliams new car.Originally posted by *Bandit* View PostWho was in the modified that flipped McWilliams? Any one know the driver? Brad Rickels flipped David. Kind of disgusting turn of events. Here was my problem with the situation. Rickels was laps down. He was in the transfer spot as far as David knew so David raced him hard and from I could see clean, to get the spot. This should have never happened. That car should have been running in the back of the field OR every driver should have been aware the car was a laps down. I didn't like that situation at all.

Actually Mike has been running at florence reg. shows for a couple years. even the 1200 to win. When neighboring tracks have added purses, he runs them. If not he has been running at florence.
