Also racing will be the UMP Modifieds as part of the UMP Modified Summit Nationals. This is the first year for this new series being run in conjunction with the SummerNatiionals. Tonight the modifieds will be racing for $750 to win. The UMP Street Stocks will also be running for $200 to win.

A huge fireworks display will take place at the end of tonight program

Pit gate opens at 2 with the grandstand gate opening at 5. Hot Laps will be at 630 with qualifying at 700 and racing at 730.

Grandstand admission is $25 for adults with children 12 and under $5. Pit admission will be $35.

TRAFFIC NOTE: If you are coming south on I-57 past Mt Vernon the best way to avoid the construction is to take I-64 east out of Mt Vernon to Illinois 37 South. Take that all the way until you pick I-57 back up. That will get you around all of the construction.

Man, if I didn't have to work tomorrow I would be there in a heartbeat. But being six hours away the ol' body just don't function like it used to. Good luck to all the drivers and hope the racing is great. I'm glad they made this race a tribute to Chris Smith, a really nice guy and someone who did a lot for late model racing.
