    Babb takes Peoria Summernationals

Shannon Babb passed Scott James in traffic on lap 24 and went on to his 3rd Summernationals win of 2011 Wednesday night at Peoria Speedway. Wes Steidinger jumped to the lead until James, who was using the high side of the track, got a run off turn 2 and passed him down the backstretch. A lap 5 caution for Jack Sullivan slowed the field, and on the restart Babb began to pressure Steidinger for 2nd. Babb kept poking his nose under Steidinger for the next 5 laps until he finally got by Larry Reikert-owned car for 2nd on lap 10. James began to encounter lapped traffic on lap 15, and Babb began to close the gap. Babb had closed onto James' back bumper by lap 22, and made the pass coming out of turn 4 on lap 24. Babb encountered lapped traffic again on lap 33, but James could never make the pass and ended up in 2nd, .488 seconds behind Babb at the checkered flag. James, Matt Miller, Steidinger, and Jeep Van Wormer rounded out the top 5.
The UMP Summernationals roll into Macon Speedway Thursday night for the prestigious "Herald and Review 100".

For $25 I was hoping for some good side by side racing. Unfortunately all I saw was a train.

Well you werent the only one disappointed. When Feger went to the bottom I knew racing for positions were over and I headed for the car...The heat races werent even that good in my opinion....Best action of the night was watching Harrison go to the front in the mod feature.
