On Saturday, July 16, 2011 the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series will make its sixth appearance at the Screven Motor Speedway as part of the twelfth annual 'Rebel Yell' event. The 'Rebel Yell', which is sponsored by the Son's of the Confederacy, will also feature racing in all local divisions: Limited Sportsman, Super Streets, Pure Streets, Road Warriors, Mini Stocks, and Renegades.
The Shaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series will battle it out at the “Action Track of the South†for 53 laps paying $5,300 to the winner of the event. Previous champions of the Southern Nationals Series at Screven Motor Speedway include: Henry Carter (2006), Jimmy Sharpe (2007), Dennis 'Rambo' Franklin (2008 and 2009), and Casey Roberts (2010). All local divisions will also receive increased payouts of $500 to win in all divisions for this event.
The Son's of the Confederacy will also be at the event to entertain the fans during a special intermission event with a short re-enactment at the track. Also, Miss Rebel Yell 2011, Lisa Casteel, will be on hand for pictures with all of the drivers.
Gates will open 4PM on Saturday, July 16, 2011 for this event. Adult general admission grandstand tickets are $20.00 and includes admission to both the Screven Motor Speedway and the Dixie Pro Mod event at the Savannah River Dragway. Children 12 and under are FREE. Adult pit admission is $25 and children 12 and under are $10. Racing will begin at 7:30PM for all divisions.
