‘Late Model Mania’ racing program scheduled Saturday, July 16 at Volunteer Speedway has been postponed due to inclement weather
BULLS GAP, Tenn. — With track excavating work taking place this week at Volunteer Speedway, following heavy rain Thursday night and more precipitation falling Friday morning, the racing surface is too muddy for excavating equipment to get on the high banks and complete grading work. With the National Weather Service forecast calling for additional chances of rainfall overnight Friday into Saturday morning, and with race teams having to travel from out of state to compete, unfortunately the “Late Model Mania†Ultimate Super Late Model and Fastrak Racing Series Pro Late Model headlined racing program scheduled for Saturday, July 16 has been postponed. Track owners Joe and Phyllis Loven and Ultimate and Fastrakk representative Stan Lester will work to find suitable date to reschedule Late Model Mania.
"Phyllis and Joe Loven have always been great partners to work with," stated Stan Lester. "They continuously work their racetrack in an effort to provide fans and drivers the best racing surface possible. It is unfortunate that inclement weather set in when the race track was opened up by excavating equipment. All of the clay that was being reworked was washed down the high banks of the speedway. Officials are already in the process of rescheduling the event as many Ultimate, Fastrak, and Volunteer faithful were committed to this highly anticipated event."
