Once Madden disposed of Kerr for good on lap fifteen, he held off a charge from Kerr’s teammate Billy Ogle, Jr. before stretching his lead late in the race. Shane Clanton made the long trip to Cleveland from Gillette, Wyoming where he won the $10,000 ‘Cowboy 50’ on Tuesday night at the Gillette Thunder Speedway. Clanton made a late charge to get up to the fourth position. Only two cautions slowed the action at Cleveland, as Donald Bradsher brought out the yellow on lap 13 and Chip Brindle spun in turn four on lap 22. The next event for the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series will be Friday night, July 22 at the high-banks of the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.
