Eddie carrier jr. Wins showdown and adra points lead!

EDDIE CARRIER JR. WINS SOUTHERN SHOWDOWN AND ADRA POINTS LEAD!

Apple Grove, WV- 19 July 2011~One of the most anticipated moments of the dirt track racing
season occurred on Friday, July 15th as the legendary Southern Ohio Speedway
reopened after a five year hiatus. A huge crowd was in attendance with cars from as
far away as Iowa. (T.J Layne: www.southernohiospeedway.com)

The nights 30 lap ADRA Dirt Late Model Championship A-Main presented by Suddenlink (www.Suddenlink.com) started with a three wide battle for the lead between R. J. Conley, Eddie Carrier Jr., and Tim Dohm on the opening lap! Conley would lead lap one with Dohm moving into the second position. On lap four Dohm went low in turn one and threw a slide job on Conley with the two making contact off of turn two resulting in the #6T machine of Dohm getting spun around. Dohm’s car was not damaged but would have to restart the race from the tail via the no stop rule. (T.J Layne: www.southernohiospeedway.com)

On the restart, Conley and Carrier had a fierce battle for the lead. Carrier would end
up taking the lead on lap nine while all eyes were on Dohm as he blazed his way
through the field. In an incredible show of driving talent, Dohm moved all the way from
last to third by lap twelve! Dohm then made the pass on Conley for second and set
his sights on Carrier. On lap 16, Dohm did the unthinkable and passed Carrier for the
lead, going from last to first in only 12 laps! Conley would get by Carrier as well and
move into the second position. (T.J Layne: www.southernohiospeedway.com)

Dohm ran off to a sustainable lead while all eyes were on the battle for second
between Conley and Carrier. With five laps to go, Carrier made the pass back on
Conley to move into second with Dohm still maintaining a one second lead. Dohm
looked destined for victory until the three lap to go mark when his machine was slowed
down by lapped traffic, allowing Carrier to catch him running the high side to battle side
by side for the lead coming to the line for two laps to go! (T.J Layne: www.southernohiospeedway.com)

The two battled side by side the entire lap with Carrier taking the lead coming to the
white flag! Dohm battled hard on the last lap to try to get back by Carrier but came a
car length short as Eddie Carrier Jr. came across the checkered flag to win the
Southern Showdown! Dohm finished second with Conley third, Kenneth Howell fourth,
and Mark Frazier fifth. R. J. Conley, Delmas Conley, and Harold Redman Jr won heatraces while Paul Davis won the B-Main and the ADRA Hard Charger Award after racing his way into the feature via the consy and securing a very respectable 7th place finish. Paul will receive 1 free entry fee at any ADRA event in 2011. Delmas Conley is the winner of the “ADRA Middle Man Award” for finishing in 10th place. He will receive a product certificate from Doug Smith of Double H Racing Fabrications. (T.J Layne: www.southernohiospeedway.com)

The “Salt Rock Express” Eddie Carrier Jr. takes the ADRA points lead with the win. The #11 of Billy Gullion jumps to 2nd, with Brett Kennard in the #5M rounding out the top 3 in ADRA points.

The ADRA Dirt Late Model Championship Series presented by Suddenlink will return to action on August 6th at the Lucky 7 Speedway in Whitesburg, KY for one of eastern KY’s most prestigious events, the “Coal Miners Classic” paying $5000 to win and $400 to start!

Whitesburg’s own Greg Lucas is the defending champion of this event after edging out Josh McGuire of Grayson, KY for the win last October. Josh has already committed to return to this event for 2011 along with Eddie Carrier Jr. and several others.

Go to www.adraracing.net for more information about our series and visit www.suddenlink.com to find out what Suddenlink products are offered in your area. Lucky 7 Speedway will be launching their new website in the next few days so be watching for it too. We will post their link on the ADRA site. See ya the track!
