Cleveland, TN (8/20/11) --- Leave it to MEAN-GENE THE RACIN MACHINE... As late Saturday night Jason Welshan (# 29) of Maryville, Tennessee added his name to a short-short list of drivers who've won both the Jean Johnson Memorial race for LLM/Crate's as well as the Joe Lee Johnson Memorial. Todd Morrow is the only other name that possibly comes to mind... and thats not a definate. Welshan returned to the Cleveland Speedway KC GRAPHICS Victory Lane for the second time this season as the Team Kyle "ALOT LESS Factory Outlet, Jon's Golfcarts, Advantage Check Cashing, Ronald Sexton Construction Co, Smith's Auto Sales and Centerline Construction, B&M Concrete - Miles 411 Family Restaurant, Stealth Carburators - Shorty's Shock Service, Bearden Oil" sponsored WEEKS chassised / 604 GM Performance Crate racer dominated the nights second "caution free" feature race. "I wanted to focus, just on this race" stated Welshan in the pits after his 20-lap run. "Normally, we'd brought both the Crate and Super Late Model cars, but not tonight." Welshan kept the CHICKAMAGUA BULL DAWG Craig Burrows in check for the entire feature, despite Burrows topping the 10-car qualifying order. Welshan won the Crate LM race at Cleveland on a Thursday night during the Ray Cook Southern Nationals race last month and has been on a "not-so" hot-streak since. The FLYIN WELSHAN BRIGADE will head back to Boyd's Speedway in Chattanooga next Friday (8/26) for the $800 to-win race, seeking to extend his current feature win streak to three.
