8th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 Date Moved
Columbus, Mississippi (08/23/11) Due to schedule conflicts with other races as well as area college football games the date for the 8th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi has been moved to Thursday-Saturday, October 27th-29th, 2011.
The 2011 Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 will be headlined by a $15,000 to win/$1,000 to start, 100 lap Super Late Model event. Brian Birkhofer from Muscatine, Iowa claimed the Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 title in 2010 and will likely be back to attempt a repeat performance in 2011. He will face a field of competitors that includes many of the nation’s best drivers.
Crate Late Models will also be in action as they battle for $2,500 to win/$150 to start during the course of the event. The Street Stock division will be headlined by a $1,000 to win/$75 to start program.
The Mini Stock division will also contest a complete show on Saturday night for $300 to win.
Open practice begins Thursday night, October 28th at 7:00 PM for all divisions. Friday night will see preliminary action for the 8th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 as Super Late Models qualify and run heat races as they attempt to make the feature field. Crate Late Models will also qualify and run heat races. Street Stocks will also run their heats.
B-Mains for all divisions will be contested on Saturday night along with the 8th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 Championships. A complete program for the Open Wheel Modified division and the Mini Stock division will be held on Saturday night.
