The Ultimate at Hesston Now 1 Day Show On Oct 22 Due to Weather

    October 20, 2011
    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

“The Ultimate” at Hesston Revised to 1-Day Show Due to Friday Weather

(Mars, PA) With colder temperatures and high winds moving into the region on Thursday and predicted to continue on Friday, the “Mega-Blitz Mach1” has been cancelled for October 21. The schedule of events for “The Ultimate” will take place on Saturday, October 22 as scheduled. The “Challenger Super Championships” will now follow the alternative 1-day schedule and payoff with the original 1-day payoff for the UFo Semi-Lates and B-Cadets being increased from the advertised amounts. The event will be the 2011 finale for the UFo Race Championship and will pay over $45,000 for all divisions.

The UFo Super Late Models will pay $8,000 to win and $500 to start with $150 tow money plus $75 Frankland gift card to the top 40 non-qualifers.. The UFo Semi-Lates will now pay $1,500 to win, $150 to start and $75 tow plus $75 Frankland gift card to the top 35 non-qualifiers. The B-Cadets will pay $900 to win, $100 to start and $55 tow with the Hobby-Modifieds paying $700 to win, $40 to start and $38 tow. Due to pit space limitations, the Roadrunners will not compete at this year’s event as they were scheduled for Friday only.

The National Weather Service is predicting sunny conditions on Saturday with temperatures around 56-58 degrees and will provide a great day for racing and excellent track conditions. However, Friday’s forecast is showing wind gusts up to 25 mph combine with lower temperatures. Based on the conditions at the track today, the management feels this will be unbearable for race fans and race teams, so the alternative plan for a 1 day show will be utilized. The decision was made today to give those traveling to the event enough time to change their travel and accommodation plans.

Only 1-day tickets will now be sold for the event. Adult grandstand admission will be $25 with junior 10-16 tickets at $15. All pit tickets will be $38.

The schedule of events moves up 1 hour for Saturday’s activities. The 2-session format will still be used with UFo Semi-Late, B-Cadet and Hobby-Modified heats and consolations in the 1st session and the full UFo Super Late Model program in the 2nd session along with the features for the other divisions. Complete track prep will take place between the sessions with some additional track prep in between features.
