Possible $25,000 21st ULTIMATE Blue Gray 100 Cherokee Speedway Sunday Nov 20th!!

21st Annual $25,000 Blue Gray 100 wraps us ULTIMATE Season at
    Cherokee Speedway Sunday Nov 20th

Gaffney, SC - The Ultimate Super Late Model Series brings its 2011 season to a close with the 21st Annual $10,000 to win Blue Gray 100 at Cherokee Speedway. This traditional season ending event will also crown its 2011 Champion as a mere 4 points separate Chris Ferguson, Casey Roberts & Chip Brindle from the $15,000 Ultimate Series Championship. Should one of these three drivers bring home the checkered flag on Sunday - they will also have earned a staggering $25,000 to go with it. Ferguson, Roberts and Brindle have all won races at Cherokee Speedway this year, but the stakes are highest for series veteran Casey Roberts who has set his sights on becoming the first ever 5 time consecutive Series Champion dating back to 2007.

The racers will not be the only winners on Sunday - Cherokee Speedway, www.dirtracefans.com and the ULTIMATE Series have organized the "Feed the Need with Speed" can food drive. Cherokee Speedway and staff will donate the first 100 cans. Dirtracefans.com & the ULTIMATE Series will match with 50 cans each. Fans are encouraged to donate canned food or non-perishable items which will be donated to Gaffney's Meals on Wheels, a local non-profit organization to help feed those in need.

Local race fans know that this 100 lap, $10,000 to win day show is a do not miss event. The Blue Gray race started more than 20 years ago as a season ending Championship race with the best drivers competing in a classic 'North vs. South' speedway showdown. Previous winners of the Blue Gray 100 include Donnie Moran (3), Scott Bloomquist (3), the "Southern Gentleman" Freddy Smith (3), Clint Smith, Petey Ivey, Dale McDowell & 3 defending race winner Chris Madden (3). This season ending event brings out the 'who's who' of dirt Late Model racing and this year promises to be no different. Last year's race drew 31 cars with Chris 'Smokey' Madden outlasting Chris Ferguson, Jonathan Davenport, Steve Shaver(WV), Dennis Erb(IL), Clint Smith(GA) and Randy Weaver(TN).

Sunday, Nov. 20th will feature an entire ULTIMATE Super Late model Show with qualifying, heat races and 100 lap main event. Support Divisions running main events only Sunday will be Crate Sportsman, Renegade & Stock 4. Crate Late Models and Vintage cars will qualify and run main events on Sunday as well. While the SLM portion of the Blue Gray is Sunday, Cherokee will hold an open practice for ULTIMATE Series on Saturday as well as run the heat races in Crate Sportsman, Renegade, & Stock 4 with Heats and Mains in Extreme 4. Gates will open at 11:00AM, drivers meeting at 1:00PM and racing to begin at 2PM.

Cherokee Speedway is conveniently located directly off I-85 at exit 96 in Gaffney SC. Located 40 miles from Charlotte, NC & Greenville, SC. For more information visit www.CherokeeSpeedwaysc.com. The Story Lines:

                • The $15,000 in 1st place Ultimate Points will be decided Sunday as Chris Ferguson Leads Casey Roberts & Chip Brindle. A mere 4 points separate the 3 drivers.

                • Chris Ferguson's most important race of his career, and he runs well at G.

                • If Casey Roberts can beat Chris Ferguson and Chip Brindle he will become an unheard of 5 time consecutive Series Champion.

                • Chip Brindle could be the dark horse in his quest for his first Series Championship

                • Jonathan Davenport comes into Cherokee as the hottest Driver in the country, won $30,000 last weekend in Alabama

                • Drivers are coming from all over for the last big race of the season: Booper Bare, Dennis Erb, Dale McDowell, Jared Landers, Jamie Lathroum, Mike Marlar, Earl Pearson Jr, Steve Shaver, Clint Smith, Freddy Smith

                • Madden vs. Rambo vs. Davenport is enough to bring the faithful fans in at Gaffney

                • 100 laps at Cherokee is anyone’s race – always a tire popper
