Florence Speedway’s Spring 50 Set for March 17
UNION, KY – The 36th Annual “Spring 50†for Dirt Late Models is set for Saturday, March 17th at Florence Speedway in Union, KY.
It will be the 2012 season opener for the half-mile facility which also hosts the “Ralph Latham Memorial†on June 2 and, the “Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 Presented by Lucas Oil†on Friday and Saturday, August 10th and 11th.
A $5,000 to win payday will be on the line for the Late Models. Also on the race card will be Open Wheel Modifieds with a $1,000 to win purse up for grabs.
Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, WV is the defending race winner capturing his first-ever win at the track last year in this annual event which is one of dirt track racing longest continuous early season events.
The pit gates will open at 4 PM, with main gates opening at 5 PM. Hot laps will begin at 6 PM followed by time trials at 6:30 PM. Racing is slated to begin at 7:30 PM
