    Lake Cumberland Speedway $2,000 to win Super Late Models to Kick Off Month of May on May 5

    Burnside, KY-April 29, 2012- Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove and his staff at “Kentucky’s House of Hardcore Mayhem” will begin the month of May on Saturday evening May 5 with a $2,000 to win/$200 to start event for the Super Late Model division, along with a full program of racing competition for all other divisions.

    The Saturday May 5 racing event will see the Super Late Model division race for $2,000 to win and $200 to start in a 35 lap main event. Also in action will be the Modified division, racing 20 laps for $600 to win. Other divisions in competition will be the Super Dirt Stocks racing for $300 to win (8 car minimum), Sportsman racing for $250 to win (8 car minimum) and Front Wheel Drives racing for $100 (8 car minimum). The Super Late Model, Modified, and Super Dirt Stock divisions will time trial, while the Sportsman and Front Wheel Drives will pill draw for heat race starting positions. All divisions will also have qualifying heats to set their respective divisions feature event line-up.

    Also for the May 5 event, drivers in the Super Late Model and Modified divisions will be required to start using the RACEceiver one-way communication device so track officials can communicate with the racers. Also, Lake Cumberland Speedway 2012 track points will start with the May 5 racing program.

    Activities for the Saturday May 5 event will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m., with a mandatory drivers meeting at 6:30 p.m. Practice is set to begin at 7:00 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. For the May 5 event, general admission ticket prices will be $15 for adults, children ages 6 to 10 will be $8, while children ages 5 and under will be admitted free with a paid adult. A pit pass will cost $35.

    Lake Cumberland Speedway competed on Saturday April 28 and feature event winners that evening included Michael Chilton of Salvisa, KY in Super Late Models, Don Adams of London, KY in Modifieds, Goble Bertram of Monticello, KY in Super Dirt Stock/Sportsman, and Jeremy Strunk of Bronston, KY in Front Wheel Drives.

    Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road, just outside of Burnside, KY, just past the entrance to General Burnside Island State Park. Brandon Hardgrove is the track promoter and presents dirt track racing entertainment on Saturday evenings. The track is located on Racetrack Road off of US Hwy. 127 South, only about five miles south of Somerset, KY.                           I don't understand why this year the local tracks have started charging so much on a child's admission( last year it was free admission for a child)if I didn't have pay for the kids I could afford to come out else paying for kids and then the food I will purchase at the track just can't afford that I know no one really cares just wanted to express my thought
