Looks to me like a racing deal. When Daniel went to clear Linville, Chilton was in a bad spot. They both went for the same piece of track and Chilton got the bad end of an even worse deal. Can't blame anybody. And I'm still confused at why Linville was penalized for going and checking on a fellow racer in a crash like that.

Not trying to start an argument, but there's nothing Linville could do that wasn't already being done by track personnel and emergency workers. All he would have done was get in the way. Last thing you need in a situation like that is one more person cluttering up the scene.

Plus he drove literally halfway around the track on a red flag to get over there.
