Some pretty good racing early on despite the big crash on the opening lap. Mark Vineyard passed a bunch of cars to get to 6th before getting tangled up with Chris Madden late in the race. Chad Ogle was on the move late after almost being lapped. Vic Hill came from 7th to finish 2nd, but could never challenge Cook. That ends Hill's win streak with the Ultimate series and at SMS in races he has entered in each.
