Southern Nationals concludes at Tazewell Speedway

Tazewell, Tennessee – Tazewell Speedway is once again the host to the final race for the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals series presented by Tri-State Tire of Middlesboro, Kentucky. The 10-race, thirteen day miniseries will conclude on Saturday, July 27 with a 53-lap, $5,300 to win race that will likely decide this year’s championship.
Defending series champion Chris Madden is once again in the thick of the championship fight. Madden is locked in a tight battle with Jonathan Davenport, Vic Hill, Billy Ogle Jr., and Eric Jacobsen. Stacy Boles and Bubba Russell are also competing for series honors.
Those drivers along with William Thomas, Steve Casebolt, Dillon Wood, Joey Coulter, Jeff Wolfenbarger, Jason Trammell, Bryan Hendrix, and Michael Chilton are other possible drivers for the Southern Nationals finale.
The format for this year’s Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals has been changed. The top four qualifiers will be locked into the feature event with starting positions being determined by the Performance Rod & Custom Dash. Consolation races will determine the remaining spots for the feature.
Also racing on Saturday will be the sportsman, modified streets, pure streets, four cylinders, and classic cars. The Tazewell Late Models will not be racing.
General admission tickets are $20 for adults with kids 9 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes are $30. Pit gates open at 4:00 and grandstand gates open at 5:00. Racing will start at 7:45.

Going north on US 25-E, turn right and then left onto Bacchus Rd, and then 1.8 miles north, then .8 miles west and the race track is located on the left.
