    Green Valley Speedway

Heard rumor track is sold. Going to make it a sub division. If this is true real sad. Grew up watching races there as a kid.

Unfortunately it's true. Worth more for houses than they can make as a racetrack. Truly sad. I made 3 trips from Ga. over there this year. Be prepared to see it happen again & again. All over the country. Support any & all tracks around u before they become something else.

Gvs will surely be missed by myself and family. Dennis Harker turned it into a very nice facility and I personally appreciate his efforts.

I don't know that you'll see it again and again... it's not like the housing market is good enough to sell the houses.

Dennis has plenty money, and runs a good laundromat but he can't run a race track.

He told them 6 years ago a the drivers meeting he would throw money at it & do whatever they wanted to do.

He did it, including shortening up the track.

And now he is doing what he told them he would do,

develop the land & raise the property values of those on Green Valley Road.

Dennis worked at Sears, cashed it all in, rolled the dice & opened a laundry , established 6 strong stores & sold them in 1980 to make his first million .

Continental Laundry Equipment thought enough of him to work with him on SE distributing.

He now has 60 stores & sets people up & even secures financing for them.

I have called races there 2 times . It was as nice as any. He did it right .

The neighbors are great, gave & loaned us everything we needed..& even rounded up a great grew to work hard & take it all down .

Dennis Harker is not leaving racing as he has two new Mastersbilts, w Super & crate engines &

Tommy Maddox of Centre Alabama as driver & plans to do what he always liked, go racing .

Special thanks to BO SHIRLEY & his sweet sister @ NEALCO in Gadsden for all his help this past week

3000 more grandstands & othere equipment will now be waiting for fans Feb 6 -7 8

@Screven Winter Freeze IV w Woo two nights $10K each ..

& a very special 1st time Ever race on Thursday Feb 6 !
