Smoky Mountain Speedway welcomes National Dirt Racing League for $20,000 Tipoff Classic March 6-8

MARYVILLE, TN (January 26, 2014)—Smoky Mountain Speedway located in Maryville, TN is gearing up for one of the largest races ever held at the track. The National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) will sanction the Tipoff Classic weekend on March 6-8th as the three-day weekend gets kicked off by an open practice session on Thursday Night March 6th from 6:00-9:00 pm. The NDRL Late Models will take to the track on Friday night March 7th competing for $7,500 to win while the finale event on Saturday Night March 8th will pay $12,500 to win making the possibility of one driver walking away with $20,000 in first place money at the night’s end.
On Thursday Night March 6th there will be an open practice for all divisions from 6:00 pm through 9:00 pm. The cost is $10.00 for stands and tier parking while Pit Passes will be $25.00. With all paid pit admission prices, an after race pit party will be held with a Meet & Greet session of the NDRL drivers. Complimentary drinks and snacks will be served complimentary of Smoky Mountain Speedway and John Kennedy of NDRL.
On Friday Night March 7th the NDRL Late Models along with the Limited Late Models ($1,200 to win) and the Classics ($500 to win) will also be on the racing card. The Pit Gates will open at 1:00 pm with the Grandstands & Tier Parking opening at 4:00 pm. The Driver’s Meeting will be at 6:00 pm with Hot Laps to follow shortly after. Adult Pit Passes will be $40.00 with Tier Parking $30.00 and Grandstands $25.00. Children five and under are admitted free in the grandstands and tier parking.
On Saturday Night the NDRL Late Model finale along with the Crate Late Models ($1,000 to win) and the Sportsman ($500 to win) will also be on the agenda for the night. The Pit Gates will open at 1:00 pm with the Grandstands & Tier Parking opening at 4:00 pm. The Driver’s Meeting will be at 6:00 pm with Hot Laps to follow shortly after. Adult Pit Passes will be $40.00 with Tier Parking $35.00 and Grandstands $30.00. Children five and under are admitted free in the grandstands and tier parking.
Presale weekend admission for all three days including the Thursday practice session will be available. A $10.00 discount will be offered if purchased in advance. Presale tickets will be available soon on the NDRL website located at www.thendrl.com .
Other Notes of Interest for the weekend:
Dry camping will be available for $30.00 if paid in advance or $40.00 at the track which is good for all weekend. The Official Host Hotel will be the Hilton Knoxville Airport located at 2001 Alcoa Highway in Alcoa, TN 37701. The rate available to Smoky Mountain Speedway customers will be $89.00 per night with two queen or one king sized rooms available. Call (865) 970-4300 and patrons must mention Smoky Mountain Speedway for the discounted rate. Reserved seating will not be available. Golf Carts and ATV’s may be used with an All-Access (Pit Pass) by anyone over 16 years of age. The Gates will be cleared daily for Armband/ticket check. The Smoky Mountain Speedway reserves the right to search Race Haulers and/or campers.
