Chevy Super Series Tries Again To Open Season On Saturday At TST

CARTERSVILLE, GA – America’s first “Factory Backed and Factory Built” dirt late model series, the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series, will once again try to open its 2014 season with a 50-lap $3,000-to-win $300-to-start race this Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

After being rained out last Saturday night, the cars and stars of the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series will bring their brand of two and three-wide racing to “The Hornet’s Nest” this Saturday night in their dirt late model race cars powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance CT 525 all-aluminum racing engines.

Top expected entries include the defending Champion of the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series William Thomas of Phenix City, AL along with Tim Busha of Boaz, AL, National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN, Matthew Turner of Dawsonville, GA, Brent Barrett of Cleveland, MS, the father-son team of Ross and Adam Martin, Chase Edge of Lafayette, AL, and David Brannon of Elora, TN.

Among the Talladega Short Track Super Late Model favorites expected this Saturday night are the defending track champion Tim Roszell of Anniston, AL, Ted Lackey of Munford, AL, Carlton Freeman of Eastaboga, AL, Steve Kirk of Munford, AL, Lavon Sparks of Phenix City, AL, and Dingus Griffin of Ohatchee, AL.

Also expected for the 2014 Chevrolet Performance Parts season opener are Frank Wilson of Milton, FL, Mark Dowdy of Waterloo, AL, David Earl Gentry of Murfreesboro, TN, Jake Knowles of Tyrone, GA, Ronald Dunn of Corinth, MS, Cecil Eunice of Blackshear, GA, and Jimmy Crowder of Lamont, FL.

The Chevrolet Performance CT 525 racing engine is built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications, and is based off the LS3 production engine that comes in the Chevrolet Corvette, the Chevrolet Camaro, and the Chevrolet SS available at Chevrolet dealerships worldwide.

NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA, the Nation’s number one Chevrolet Powertrain Dealer seven years running, is offering a special discount sale price on the all-aluminum Chevrolet Performance CT525 Racing Engine of $9,950, which includes the interchangeable accessory package.

The interchangeable accessory package for the Chevrolet Performance CT525 Engine includes the following: Chevrolet Performance LSX Ignition Controller programmed with wiring harness; a KRC CT525 Component Package that includes Front Drive Accessory, Water Pump, Belt, Pulleys, Tensioner, Alternator, LS Motor Mounts, Cross-Over Vent Tube, Water By-Pass Tube, and Mounting Hardware; HTD Flywheel with Flywheel Bolts; Schoenfeld Tri-Y Headers with Header Bolts; Oil Pressure Adapter; Transmission Mounting Bolts; and an HVH 2-Inch Spacer.

The all-aluminum Chevrolet Performance CT 525 Engine is in stock at NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA with free next day delivery anywhere in the Southeast. To place an order, call Tim Bland at 1-877-497-3624.

This Saturday night, the Talladega Short Track gates open at 4 p.m., with Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection from 4 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. The Chevy Fan Zone will be open at 5:30 p.m., and the Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. with Hot Laps and Racing to follow.

The Chevy Fan Zone is a pre-race meet and greet between the race fans and the drivers, who bring their race cars to the fans in the Grandstand area. All of the drivers will have Hero Cards to autograph for the fans, and they will also have special coloring books for the kids.

Talladega Short Track is located at 4343 Speedway Blvd., Eastaboga, AL 36260. For more information call 256-831-1413, or visit the track web site at www.talladegashorttrack.com. You can also like them on Facebook at Talladega Short Track.
