World of Outlaws return to Tazewell April 12

The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will make a return visit to Tazewell Speedway on Saturday, April 12 for a 50-lap, $10,000 to win event presented by Scion of Knoxville.
The stars of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will be back on Tazewell Speedway's high banks after the 2013 event was rained out. Bub McCool, Chris Madden, and Shane Clanton are previous WoOLMS winners at Tazewell.
Darrell Lanigan leads the series to Tazewell Speedway with a small points lead over Brandon Sheppard, who is subbing for Josh Richards. The top 10 in points is rounded out by Rick Eckert, Shane Clanton, Tim McCreadie, Frank Heckenast Jr., Morgan Bagley, Eric Wells, Chub Frank, and Clint Smith.
Other regional stars such as Billy Ogle Jr., Tommy Kerr, Jeff Wolfenbarger, Steve Smith. and more are expected to be at Tazewell for the WoOLMS event.
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series format consists of time trials, heat races, last chance races, and the 50-lap main event for $10,000.
The tire rule of the event will be Hoosier 1300, 1350, 1450, 1600 and 55-compound tires or American Racer 44-, 48- and 56-compound rubber. All of the tires will be required to punch a minimum '40' reading when checked with a durometer.
Also on the racing program for April 12 will be the sportsman division for $700 to win, modified streets and classis cars for $500 to win each, and four cylinders for $400 to win. Tazewell's limited late models will not be racing.
Pit gates open at 4:00 and grandstand gates open at 5:00. Racing will begin at 7:30. Ticket prices and other information can be found on the track's web site at www.TazewellSpeedway.net.
