Magnolia Motor Speedway Prepares for Lucas Oil Invasion
Columbus, MS (06/04/14) Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi is eagerly preparing for The Columbus Convention and Visitor's Bureau Clash at the MAG on June 12th-14th, 2014. Less than a week away the mega-event will see the stars and cars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors attempting to tame the "Black Ice" in pursuit of a $20,000-to-win top prize and a total purse in excess of $85,000 as the MAV TV American Real cameras tape all of the action for a future airing.
Drivers from across the country will invade the state-of-the-art facility for one of its biggest events of the year. Don O'Neal, Jimmy Owens, Earl Pearson Jr., Scott Bloomquist, Steve Francis, Eddie Carrier Jr., Billy Moyer, John Blankenship, Billy Moyer Jr., Bub McCool, Jared Landers, Dennis Erb Jr., Jason Hughes, Jason Papich, Neil Baggett, Rick Rickman, Brian Rickman, Dane Dacus, Wendell Wallace, Jack Sullivan, and a host of other drivers headline the star-studded expected list of entries.
The action opens on Thursday, June 12th with an Open Practice Session for all divisions from 7pm to 10pm. Grandstand admission is free and pit admission is $20.
On Friday, June 13th the event kicks into high gear as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will host time trials and heat race action. In addition, The MSSS Street Stocks will battle in heats races, while the NeSmith Dirt Late Models will battle for $800 to win/$50 to start race event with it being a weekly point’s race. Drivers Meeting is at 7pm SHARP with Action starting at 8pm on Friday.
Saturday night, June 14th will see the LOLMDS Super Late Models contesting b-main action as well as the 100 lap, main event, which will be taped by the MAV TV cameras for a future broadcast. MSSS Street Stocks in a $1,000 to win/$100 to start event, while the NeSmith Dirt Late Models will battle for $1,000 to win/$75 to start with it being a weekly racing series point’s race and Mini Stocks will battle for $300 to win/$40 to start with it being a weekly racing series points race. Drivers Meeting is at 6:30pm SHARP with Action starting at 7:30pm on Saturday.
On Friday night and Saturday night Grandstand admission is $25 for adults with kids 6-10 $5, and children 5 & under free. Pit admission is $35 each night with kids 6-10 years of age $25, and 5 & under free.
Two-day grandstand adult passes are available for $45. Two day adult pit passes are available for $65 and are $40 for kids 6-10 years of age. Three day adult pit passes are available for $80 for adults and $50 for kids 6-10 years of age.
