    D!ckson, Black, Moore & Boozels Take Wins at Hesston

    (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son, Black, Moore & Boozels Take Wins at “the Hesston Trophy”

    (Hesston, PA) 800 horsepower Super Late Models returned to the high banks of Hesston for the running of “the Hesston Trophy.” With thunderstorms surrounding the area, the sun was shining at Hesston. The track ran a quick program to complete racing slightly after 9:00 PM with the threat of incoming night rain.

    Nick (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son from Lewiston took the $1,500 win in the Super Late Models, while Robbie Black of Claysburgwon $700 in the Semi-Lates. Greg Moore of Defiance repeated his win in the Cadets for the $400 win. Alex Boozel, of McVeytown also was a repeat winner in the $200 Freedom Powersports Hobby-Modified feature as well as Eric Boozel of McVeytown taking back-to-back wins in the Dave’s Auto Body & Towing Roadrunners.

    16 Super Late Models took the green flag for the 30 lap feature. (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son showed his power from the outset and outran a challenge from Tim Smith, Jr. on a double file restart to take the win. Smith followed in second with Justin Kann, Tom Decker, Jr,. and Jeremey Ohl rounding out the top five..

    Mike Altobelli, Jr., Jeff Miller, Andrew Yoder, 15th starting Jason Schmidt and Waylon Wagner rounded out the top 10. Heat wins went to Miller and (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son.

    Robbie Black found his way into the winner’s circle in the caution-free 25 lap Semi-Late feature. Curtis Heath followed in second. George Dixon, Jr. turned down several challenges from seventh starting Brad McGinnis in his 604 crate motor, with the two finishing third and fourth. Rick Singleton, winner of opening night, advance to fifth.

    Ronnie Bottenfield, Devin Hart, Donnie Farling, Ralph Morgan, Jr. and Kenny Yoder rounded out the top ten. Heat race wins went to Singleton and Morgan.

    Greg Moore charged from his required 10th starting position for his second consecutive win in the 20 lap A-Cadet feature. Ryan Sager took the lead a the green flag and was soon being challenged by seventh starting Jesse Snyder, in a spec motor 358 car. Moore and Khi Swanger were soon racing with Snyder for second. Moore took second on lap eleven and then took the lead from Sager on lap 14. A caution appearedon the next lap when Swanger and Snyder spun, setting up a double file restart.

    Sager powered into the lead on the restart, but Moore made an outside pass on lap seventeen and lead the remaining laps. Sager finished second with heat winner Cris Edwards, ninth starting Mike Desch and Chad Parks rounding out the top 5. Ronnie Garlock, Swanger, Snyder, Matt Krause and Tom Wakefield finished in the sixth through tenth positions.


    Alex Boozel roared from his eight place staring position to win again in the 15 lap Freedom Powersports Hobby-Modified feature. Shawn Shoemaker lead the first eleven laps before Boozel made the winning pass. Shoemaker finished second with 10th starting Austin Johnson in third. Preston Imler and Kadden Smith crossed the line in fourth and fifth.

    Ben Krause, Amber Mills, Denny Norris, Zach Price and Brandie Mills rounded out the top ten. Boozel also was the heat race winner.

    Eric Boozel was also a repeat winner from his mandated starting position for his previous win. Boozel was slated to start 10th but advance to eight on the initial grid when one car failed to make the lineup. Justin Williamson lead the first two laps before Boozel moved to the front. Boozel lead the remaining laps with Williamson, Andrew Moist, Bobby Wellman, and Zach Moist following.

    Rusty Focht, Adam Morgan, Heath Leonard, Michael Jack Wityk and Kolton Wagner rounded out the top ten. Boozel also won the heat race.


    Next Sunday, May 24 is one of the biggest events of 2015 at Hesston. The UFo “D.R. Eriksen Grand Prix” will pay tribute to the man that rebuilt the track during the first part of the decade. The UFo Super Late Model tour returns to earth. The 56 lap Super Late Model feature will pay $4,056 to win and $400 for 24th.

    If 33 Super Late Model attend, 26 will start the feature, with 28 starting if there is a 37 car count and 30 starting with a 41 car count. Positions 25+ will pay $375 if they are added. Non-qualifiers will be paid $150.

    Semi-Lates will race for $1,000 in this double power late model division program. Cadets will race for $575 with Hobby-Modifieds paying $300 and Roadrunners paying $200.

    “Motor Mountain” is located in the scenic Raystown Lake and mountain country of central PA and provides a wonderful opportunity for race fans and race teams to make a complete weekend getaway when attending the racing events at Hesston. All fans are provided an excellent view of the action, with grandstand seating and drive-in viewing built high above the racing surface. Hesston welcomes campers and now offers in track-camping on the back straight viewing ramp.
