One would think it falls under the SAS body rules. I too am shocked that someone who has been illegal almost (if not every) time he has been protested was found so again.

How do you throw a guy out for being 5 pounds light? Given the weight of the cars that would be a smaller infraction. I don't know the details of the protest so I can't say if it was an 1/8 or not. Were they going to tear the engine down, check fuel and tires?

My feeling is that Mr. Welshan has used up all of his "good will" in the racing community by being found wrong so many times before.

I'm sorry I don't understand the reference. Has Welshan been thrown out at ft payne before? I think this is the first year for this series, not sure though.

I was saying I think it was the 4th year in a row he's been tossed by someone. Not UCRA or Ft Payne in general.

Guy who was there told me it was 5/8 short. That didn't win the race but it may have helped, like say a spoiler that is too tall or a nose with too much slope.

Let me correct this, it was 3/8 I misspoke.

I have a conspiracy theory too. The Ford guy that runs ft payne also has a stake in ucra (he does not own the 42 cars engine) Ford is however an authorized rebuilder, and as I understand it Ford's seals are in Welshan's engine. Da da daaaa... Maybe that is why he tossed him on wheelbase.

Maybe the wheel base is covered under the SAS body rules as shown on the UCRA rules page? Just guessing here... maybe they should clarify that for races in the future so there isn't a confusion.

Welshan was DQ'ed last year at Tri-County for a NeSmith race.
