Ucar Mechanic's Awards at Winchester

On April 20, we had special awards for the top mechanics of the winning cars in the three Ucar heat races. Things didn't go as planned. The winner of the feature, shattered his right front brake rotor at the finish line, and it cut a hole in his gas tank. Victory Lane got kinda scary as gas was pouring out the tank of the winning car. The normal victory lane interview was cut short and the interviews and presentation of the mechanics' awards was overlooked. The winners did receive their citations and buckets of supplies but nobody in the stands knew anything about it.
Bill Trail of Williams Motor Parts, the local NAPA dealer in Charles Town, has stepped up and offered prizes that we will present to the mechanic/crew chief of the feature winner in future Virginia Heritage Ucar Series races. Thanks Bill for your support, cause these guys need a bit of recognition for all their work.

Thanks to the "NAPA Boyz", Bill in Charles Town and Dave in Inwood, the Virginia Heritage Ucar Series will now have the NAPA Know How Mechanic's Award! The mechanic of the feature winning Ucar will receive 4 quarts of oil, a filter, and a NAPA hat. It's about time the guys that turn the wrenches get some recognition!
