Richmond Raceway’s Rain Dodger 40 rolls on May 26; $3k to win Late Models!
RICHMOND, KY (May 21, 2012)-Richmond Raceway track promoters Joey and Tiffany Tackett are ready to roll their first marquee event of the 2012 season this Saturday, May 26. The 2nd Annual Rain Dodger 40 will pay a $3,000 top prize in the Coyote 100.7 FM Late Model division!
This event is part of a weekend trio of events that kicks off on Friday, May 25 at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY before moving to Richmond Raceway on Saturday, May 26. The Memorial Day weekend blowout will conclude at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY on Sunday, May 27. If the same the SAME Late Model driver can win all three events, he/she will receive a $600 bonus for their efforts. As the Coyote 100.7 FM Late Models take center stage for the first time in 2012 their joined by the Open Wheel Modifieds, Sportsman, Road Hogs, and Four Cylinders, all with a full program of racing on tap.
The pit area opens at 4:30 p.m. followed by the grandstand area at 6:00 p.m. with hot laps slated for 6:45 p.m. Grandstand admission is $17 for adults and $3 for kids ages 6 through 12. Pit Admission is $35 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6 through 12. Kids ages 5 and under are admitted FREE to Richmond Raceway.
Richmond Raceway last raced on Saturday, May 19. Feature event winners that night included Aaron Hatton of Mount Sterling, KY in the Coyote 100.7 FM Late Models, Chad Scott of Richmond, KY in the Open Wheel Modifieds, Logan Preston of Berea, KY in the Sportsman, Wayne Duvall of Lexington, KY in the Road Hogs, and Jeremy Porter of Mount Washington, KY in the Four Cylinders.
