Clay County and Windy Hollow Start American Modified Series ’12 Tour on June 2 and June 3

Glasgow, KY-May 28, 2012- The American Modified Series is set to kick of its 2012 racing campaign with a doubleheader of racing action this coming weekend with events on Saturday June 2 at Clay County Speedway in Flora, IL and on Sunday June 3 at Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro, KY. Both events will pay $1,500 to win and $200 to start. This will be the first appearance for the American Modified Series at both of these racing venues.

Clay County Speedway in Flora, IL was added to the schedule late in the week last week after Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN decided to drop their AMS sanction of an event scheduled for June 2.

On Saturday June 2 at Clay County Speedway in Flora, IL, the American Modified Series will present a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and a 30 lap, $1,500 to win A-Main event. Other divisions in competition at Clay County Speedway on Saturday June 2 will include Non-Wing Sprints, UMP Super Stocks, UMP Street Stocks, UMP Pure Stocks, and UMP Hornets. All this action at Clay County Speedway on Saturday June 2 for a $7 general admission ticket price and racing action takes the green flag at 7:30 p.m. local time.

On Sunday June 3 at Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro, KY, the American Modified Series will present a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $1,500 to win A-Main event. Other divisions in competition at Windy Hollow Speedway on Sunday June 3 will be EMods, Bombers, Street Stocks, Cruisers, Mini Stocks, and Rusty Bolts. Racing action at Windy Hollow Speedway on Sunday June 3 will take the green flag at 6:00 p.m. local time.

The A-Main purses for the June 2 Clay County Speedway and June 3 Windy Hollow Speedway events is as follows: 1st- $1,500, 2nd- $750, 3rd- $600, 4th- $550, 5th- $500, 6th- $450, 7th- $400, 8th- $350, 9th- $325, 10th- $300, 11th- $275, 12th- $250, 13th- $230, 14th- $220, 15th through 22nd- $200 to start.
The American Modified Series will present UMP Modified sanctioned dirt track sports entertainment at racing venues throughout Kentucky, Illinois, and Tennessee.
