Joey Kramer Rolls to American Modified Series Win at Moler Raceway Park
Williamsburg, OH-June 22, 2012- The American Modified Series presented its fourth event of the 2012 season on Friday evening with the tour’s first visit of the season to Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH and second-generation racer Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN would take the checkered flag first and pick up a $1,500 payday in the process and score his 13th overall victory of the season first with the American Modified Series in 2012.
Clayton Miller would take the race lead and control the event for most of the way until the final caution that waved on a restart with six laps remaining when 11th place starter Joey Kramer would get by Miller and take the race lead and lead the remaining six circuits to take the victory. Miller would end up second, while Devin Gilpin would earn hard charger honors after starting 17th and finishing third. Current series points leader Trent Young would wind up in the fourth position, while veteran Weasel Rhodes would complete the top five in the Moler Raceway Park American Modified Series A-Main.
The remainder of the top ten finishers would be Anthony Slusher, Matt Hamilton, Jeremie Breze, Kevin Copher, and Tyler Jones. The 30 lap, $1,500 to win event would be slowed by three caution flags and take 21 minutes to complete.
In preliminary action, Devin Gilpin would be the Williams Precision Engine top qualifier among 32 entries at 14.265 seconds. Clayton Miller would win Hypercoil Springs heat one, while Bryan Barber won Wiles Driveshafts heat two. Trent Young would take the win in VP Racing Fuels heat three, with Doug Adkins winning Comp Cams heat four. Gilpin and Shawn Tolson would be the B-Main winners, while provisional starters would be Derrick Davis and Dustin Webber
