Twin Cities Raceway Park Race Summary and Results for April 6th, 2013
Hines, Perry, Owens, Sims and Patterson in victory lane at Twin Cities Raceway April 6th
Can we say the Thunder is back at Twin Cities Raceway Park? Fans and drivers were ecstatic to see the track in awesome shape that made way for some great racing Saturday! The pits were buzzing from comments from a lot of the drivers saying the work that was done this past week worked, and that the 3 and 4 turns were a lot better! Work continues weekly on the track, improving the racing conditions as well as the facilities and the fans and drivers are loving it!

The night started off with the late model Jeremy Hines taking command and the lead for his second win a row since the opening of the newly renovated Twin Cities. Brandon Thirlby, Joe Godsey, Chris Streeval, and Steve Barnet rounded out the top five in the late model division.

In the modified division, Clayton Perry was able win a much wanted feature! “It’s been awhile!” stated Rob Perry, Clayton’s father. “About three years since we have had a feature win!” he added all smiles. Perry, not a stranger to victory lane, had plenty of wins in the superstock class prior to moving into the modified division. Trent Green took second with Brock Burton, Mike Bechelli, and Eric Varner following.

In the superstock division, no win was wanted as much as Greg Owens had wanted this win. He had raced at Twin Cities pretty much off and on all his whole racing career since he was 18 years old, and although he had been close a few times almost winning there, and he had wins at other tracks, but never one at his ‘hometown track’ . This win had always eluded him. Early on, Aj Clark and Jason Hehman battled for the lead. Greg was able to take it and jump out to a substantial lead where he stayed the rest of the race. Jason Hehman came in second with AJ Clark, Troy Clark and will McRoberts rounding out the top five.
In the pure stock division, Brian Sims raced his way right in to victory lane, with Mike Hines, Willy Sallee, Bill Moore and Mark Bruce rounding out the top five.
With the hornet purse raised to $175 to win, thanks to Drainmaster Sewer Service, the hornets put on a pretty good show for the fans! After a second finish last week, Jeff Patterson meant business tonight, taking the checkers in the hornet division and the $175 purse. Todd Cain, Justin Patterson, Cody Perry and Caleb Bunch followed.

Next week, Saturday, April 13th, will be the first points race of the season and the official season opener at Twin Cities!

Brought to you by Country Mart and Caddies Pub, Late Models will be paying $1500 to win, and $200 to start, plus the regular show. (Modifieds, Superstocks, Purestocks, Hornets)

KIDS! KIDS! KIDS! Twin Cities will be hosting a ‘Bicycle Bash’ giving out 1st, 2nd, and third place trophies, to kids 7 and under, 8-10 and 11-14. Bring the family for a night filled with fun, give-a-ways, and racing!
Gates open at 2:30, hot laps at 4:30. Grandstands 15.00 kids 12 and under FREE
Pit Pass 30.00. Visit twincitiesracewaypark.net for more information! See you at the races!

    Payout

I think if Twin cities could up the payout on the bottom in the mods and super stocks to around a $100.00 to start it would really help draw cars. With fuel $3.50 to $4.00 a gal its hard to drive the extra miles . say from paragon or lps. Cars are going to be thin this year with 4 to 5 tracking running on saturday nights.

        thanks!

Thanks ! And, with all the $ going out this year on having to update the track, I am glad it's paying what it is. However, these new guys have shown if car counts go up, they pay their drivers, and pass on the $. Already saw it happen....and it's just the start of the season...so keep your eyes on this track..... this guy is off to a good start and already has alot of respect from the drivers so far. Track is looking good too....he is working his tail off on it.
