    Spring Nationals Next for Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series at Smoky Mountain Speedway March 29

    Glasgow, KY-March 16, 2014- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will present its second event of the 2014 racing season on Saturday March 29 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN as part of the track’s 2nd Annual Spring Nationals presented by East Tennessee Auto Outlet. The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series open-wheel warriors main event will be 35 laps in distance and pay $3,000 to win and $225 to start.

    The trip for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series to Smoky Mountain Speedway will mark the tour’s second trip to the storied East Tennessee racing facility that was a host to NASCAR Grand National events in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Defending series champion Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY was victorious in the tour’s first visit to Smoky Mountain in 2013, as the event drew 32 entries to the track that doesn’t field the UMP DirtCar Modified division on a regular basis.

    The 2014 Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will compete in the 2nd Annual Spring Nationals presented by East Tennessee Auto Outlet at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN on Saturday March 29. The event will feature the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 35 lap, $3,000 to win/$225 to start 2nd Annual Spring Nationals presented by East Tennessee Auto Outlet. Other divisions joining the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series at Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday March 29 will be Ray Cook’s Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals presented by Schaeffer Racing Oil Spring Nationals, with Super Late Models racing for $6,000 to win, along with track’s Limited Late Model division racing for $1,000 to win.

    Activities for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series 2nd Annual Spring Nationals event on Saturday March 29 will see the pit area at 1:00 p.m., with the general admission and tier parking areas open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with practice starting at 6:30 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. All times listed are Eastern Time. Ticket prices for this event at Smoky Mountain Speedway in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, $25 in tier parking, while a pit pass will be $35.
