Ponderosa Speedway Preparing for Upcoming 2016 Race Season
Junction City, KY- March 5, 2016- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson is preparing for the upcoming 2016 racing season at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring†with new additions such as a scoreboard and additional seating for race fans.
The initial on-track activities at Ponderosa Speedway are set to begin with the track’s annual Test and Tune Open Practice day on Sunday afternoon March 20. Pit gates will open at Noon for practice day and practice laps will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. that afternoon.
The 2016 race season will officially begin at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday March 25 with the track’s 44th Annual Season Opener that will feature a full racing program for Pro (Crate) Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Four Cylinders, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones.
The featured divisions at Ponderosa Speedway for the 2016 season will be Pro (Crate) Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Four Cylinders, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones. Super Late Models will compete in special events only at the track in 2016, with six events on the schedule at this time.
Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Jerry Denson is the track promoter.
