    Vermilion County Speedway

It appears that VCS isn't done after all. Per Facebook: For Immediate Release: Michael and Kim Daugherty have reached an agreement with the Vermilion County Fair Board to promote VCS. "We will run at least 2 races for the remainder of the 2016 season to get things going." Says Michael Daugherty. "We will be running Modifieds, Pro Late Models, street Stock, pure Street, and Sport Compact. The track will be UMP." Again says Daugherty. "We love short track racing. We will do everything in our power to keep this sport going." Says Kim Daugherty. First race is scheduled to be Sunday September 4th. Details will be coming soon.

Hope it works for VCS. It's a great track. Fairboard and local economy are the two factors that will be tough to overcome.

I think it's great! I'm not near enough to Boswell to know the overall job they're doing there, but it's still open so you could say they've resurrected the place. Them being not too far from Danville could make for some nice two day shows. Hopefully it's back on the Summer Nationals schedule next year. I think a Sunday track is good for our area as well as for someone like me. I wouldn't mind doing a Farmer City, Fairbury/Peoria, Danville weekend here or there.

I wish them good luck but Bad weekend to open with the three big Modified shows going on that weekend. Farmer City $3000 on Friday, Fairbury $10,000 on Saturday and Spoon $5000 on Sunday. All AMS shows. Maybe they should try opening on the 11th. Nothing going on that Sunday and should get a great turnout.
