The video shows good racing . What do other fans that were in attendance think ? Did you see a difference in the racing. What did the r r look like after 100 black glass laps from crew guys??

There was no black glass to be found. The biggest difference was a much different racing surface than a typical North South.

I heard more discussion about having to run a 1350 on the rf on Thursday.

From the clues we get from the racers, it sounds like they held up better than the 1350s on the LR and RF. That could be set up or grooving and sipeing also. One thing is for sure, it was a even playing field.

Exactly, all the corners had mandatory compounds. The options where how to groove and sipe the 1350s and witch tire to lean on when picking your set up, depending on the lines you want to run. The looser set up leaned on the tough tire and the tighter leaned on the RF and RR. So choice was loose to run cushion or tighter to run low and center. The ones that chose low and center had issues with RF and LR. We just aren't sure how these where grooved and siped, that was legal for the1350s.

All in all, it was a great race and a good chess game for the crew chiefs. If it was easy, everyone would do it. There is so much we don't see from the stands. Things that make it more interesting. BTW hindsight is 20 / 20.

That place is generally pretty hard on 1350 tires even for a local show. I would bet most had issues with the RF and LR.

They definitely threw some wrenches into the equation for sure.

Watched a DRC video with the winner of the race. Said after 100 laps, tires were good. And he abused them for 100 laps as well.

Dale McDowell said in his interview he thought it was a good idea.
