IMO Weavers cars are modified a little than the normal longhorn. Racing is racing dont matter where you run on the track as long as your competitive. Idk what really is going with Rumleys but it sounds like they need to invest in some new equipment..not chassis. Most their problems have been brakes and motors time to replace them with new
If I havent offended you please be patient Ill get to you as soon as I can...... and yes Im a Bloomquist fan...deal w it!!! WWG1WGA!!!

        or more excuses.
I'll use the Firecracker as an example. There was no real cushion. McDowell led most of the race a lane down from the top, because that's where there was the most moisture for the first half of the race. Bloomer and Richards used the top to run him down, then moved around to get by him. Davenport, who is known to use the cushion started dead last and moved all the way up to fifth using the top, middle, and bottom. The reason guys run the top is to keep the momentum up. It isn't some kind of crutch to make a guy faster or anything.

Also, EPJ is known to stay on the bottom, even when it's to his detriment. How come nobody ever calls him out for that?

I would personally rather watch a group of snails race down a drag strip then I would watch an entire race of bottom feeders, banging the cushion IS dirt track racing!

There is no cushion in pavement racing, maybe that is where you need to go watch your racing.

There wasn't much choice last night. Looked like all the tracks where train races, or close to it. There is nothing wrong with having 3 grooves. I don't mind a bottom feeder or a cushion pounder, It's all racing. I hate train races because they are not racing. There is never too many grooves on a track. At least four tracks, showed they are less than average last night. I know at least one of them, didn't have to be that way.

Davenport seems to run well in Weaver's car if I were davenport I'd want to run the same engine package as weaver that way he wouldn't lose a race because of engine failure

Let's not forget that the races JD is dominating in whilst running Weaver's stuff usually aren't against a stacked field like Lucas.

The truth about the cushion boys is.. You do not have to have even close to the best car to win a race using the cushion. Your not really driving the car when you use the cushion because the cushion is your lane. When the cushion is up its like a train track fellas, your car is stuck on the cushion. These guys like JD, BSHEP, PIERCE, the guys that win on the cushion all have free racecars. It does take car control to plant the rr in the same place lap after lap that's why only a handful of driver can run the cushion properly. Is it racing? Yes. Do I like a cushion rider? HEL no. Whatever they do to that 6 car to make it so cushion dominant? I have no clue but the man jumps the cushion and turns back out of the slush and never loses a spot 6-8 times a race. I have never seen anything like it. The cushion makes for a good show but I guarantee you cut it off before every race and JD is lucky to win 2-3 races a year. JD is really good up there but it doesn't take more than a free racecar and the balls to hold the pedal to the medal to run the cushion. I think racing needs a cushion for more passing but I know that without a cushion 6, 32 will not be a factor in the Lucas oil series. Lucas oil officials probably pray for a cushion because a cushion and a slick racetrack make for a helluva show.

My question is which car are they running? The standard one or the money car. Because I thought they pulled the money car out about a month ago but I haven't seen much difference compared to the standard one.

I disagree with, it takes no talent to run the cushion. To have a car that will run the cushion and still hit the low side and middle is harder that just running the middle. There are only around ten guys that have enough concentration to run the cushion well and I'm not sure about all of them. One minor slip up, wipes out ten good laps and that slip up can end your night in a heart beat. A hall of fame driver gave my son a couple lessons, when he was racing go karts. He said set up and knowing where your right rear is, is the key to running the cushion and it can still bite you. Slightly loose and put the RR with in 6 inches of the berm coming in the corner is the key. If you slide to the berm or come in over it, it will bite you sooner or later. If you want to diamond off or drop to the lower groove, it's done with the throttle not the steering wheel. It is not a free ride around the corner as some think.

Not having a cushion cuts a groove off the race track, eliminates some passing and makes for those boring train races. It is also one of the reasons some tracks get rubbered down. If they can't run high, they have to run low. Everyone runs low and they leave the rubber there. Soon if your not on the rubber, you are going backwards.

Bubstr I agree in some ways on your post. People sometimes misunderstand one another by the way the thought comes out in text. Would be easier to explain our points face to face for sure. The cushion was nasty at the burg tonight and Im speechless after what I just watched JD do to his car and any chance he had of winning. That guy needs to change something buddy. He was crushing the cushion like I've never witnessed before. Was he a victim of the cushion or did he get another DNF because he can't calm down behind the wheel? I will leave it for you guys to decide. I wasn't there live but watched a good replay on periscope and it's already up on DOD. Drove like a man possessed lol

Wow! Almost all of us on 4m are fans of dirt late models. That means we should want the best race possible regardless. As long as racers aren't tearing each other's stuff up and the racings good why should us fans care about how the track is. Start enjoying racing and stop caring so much about your driver winning and you will enjoy it a lot more. Have your driver's you root for but enjoy the races even if they get beat by a punk who's runs the cushion. Rant over
