Would a Friday (Hagerstown) Saturday (Winchester) & Sunday (Potomac) schedule possibly work or is that wearing the teams too thin?

Rick Jones used to run against himself on a weekly basis.Originally posted by W2Racing09 View PostI can't imagine Greg would own two tracks that compete with each other on Friday nights. Either Potomac would have to run Sundays (or Hagerstown) or more than likely he will only own one of them and all the rumors I've heard leave Potomac as the odd track out.
Thanks,
Jeff.

I'm not saying it is physically impossible, just that it probably isn't the smartest thing to do. I think Greg has tried to avoid that with his current tracks -- I can't imagine him changing that philosophy now.Originally posted by GEAR_HEAD View PostRick Jones used to run against himself on a weekly basis.
If I ran both tracks and had the money Gunter has I would run Fri (Hagerstown), Sat (Winchester), and Sun (Hagerstown)
Fri at Hagerstown: LLM, alternate E-Mods and PS, alternate 4C and HS, UCAR $5 GA
Sat at Winchester: SLM, and alternate LLM and CLM, alternate E-Mods and Pure Stocks, alternate 4C and HS, UCAR $12 GA
Sun at Hagerstown: SLM, 410 Sprints and alternate CLM and 305 Sprints $15 GA (warmups at 6:30, racing over by 9:00 - no downtime)
If you pay a good point fund (to ensure that the 410 cars stay away from the Sunday specials at other tracks when you are running, and also to get loyalty from your SLM cars) I think you could get excellent car counts and no competition running on Sunday. This leaves both Potomac and Bedford to continue fighting over the SLM cars on Friday night and also frees up some of the Saturday cars to attend other area tracks. I think you would fill Hagerstown on Friday night (cheap admission) and you would fill it again on Sunday night (a regular Sunday track with the top two divisions on dirt and only one other class, a quick program with all of the big names in both classes not far from the heart of sprint country and in the middle of LM country)
Winchester really needs improvements (that wouldn't cost barely anything -- just some hard work). If I was told I was running the place tomorrow I would be spending 50 hours a week up there cleaning up, painting, bringing stuff to scrap, etc. That could be a premier facility if someone just took the time to make it that way. Plus the really need someone who can get them sponsors, there is a ton of space for banners, etc but nothing used. With that market (Winchester) so close they should have a ton of sponsorship dollars coming in annually. All I saw last week was one banner that was half torn down (I couldn't even see what it said).
Thanks,
Jeff.

I would never recommend doing anything that Rick Jones does and running against yourself is just stupid.Originally posted by W2Racing09 View PostI'm not saying it is physically impossible, just that it probably isn't the smartest thing to do. I dont know the ins and outs of everything but personally I think it would work. I wouldn't run the same classes all 3 nights but maybe alternate and mix em up. Offer some kind of a bonus for competing at all 3 tracks. If one wants to be successful in race track promotion, they should look at everything Rick Jones does and do the exact opposite.Originally posted by GEAR_HEAD View PostRick Jones used to run against himself on a weekly basis.

Probably not, I just remember the one thread awhile back where literally everyone was saying stuff about Rick Jones and then the Roaring Knob track username came on and started arguing with everyone about how Rick Jones promoting the track is better than the track going under and what not.Originally posted by Josh Bayko View PostI doubt what I said will start any drama.

Is it in really bad shape? I have not been there in 8 or 9 years. I thought they put in new concrete walls and/or guardrail a few years ago?

It's not in the best shape that is for sure, there is a lot of junk under the stands (that area would be good to make a little eating area with some picnic tables, etc). The stairs to get up the stands are falling apart, the one banner they have is ripped down and laying on the ground as of last week. It's not just cleaning up, there are a lot of improvements I would make to the track too that would cost barely anything.Originally posted by BTExpress View Post"Winchester really needs improvements (that wouldn't cost barely anything -- just some hard work).
