What happened to the 80's, 90's, etc. Sponsors?

Back in the 80's, 90's and 2000's, people like Bobby Paul (carry over from 70's), Garland Flaughter, Chubby Baird, Jim Erp, Ostrom Painting, EZ Crusher, Stephen McCullough, J.W. Hunt, Ralph Curtis, Clayton Christenberry, Cowen Trucking, Denny's Marina, GVS Racing, Monday Trucking, Ron Pack , Bill Day Tire, Max Murphy Trucking, Royal Pipe & Supply, and many , many more were considered big sponsors. Anyone know how they footed the bills or owned cars, engines, or just cash..... I would assume all either got out or lost interest and some maybe still involved. Thanks to all.

Bobby Paul Deceased ,Monday Trucking out of business i heard OJ Monday moved to Alaska ,Christenberry Trucking out of business was told when economy went bad in 2008 he parked all 100 trucks started selling them off now him and freddie smith look after the farm and cows .
